Float Circuit
The float circuit maintains an adequate supply of fuel at the proper level in the carburetor bowl for use by the other circuits. The twin floats, which closely follow the contours of the bowl, are designed to provide a stable supply of fuel under all operating conditions.
Fuel enters the carburetor through the needle & seat. When the fuel reaches a predetermined level in the bowl, the float lever pushes the needle into its seat to shut off the flow of fuel. The fuel level is maintained by the opening and closing of the needle.

Float Adjustment
Two separate float adjustments must be made, lateral and vertical.
Lateral – Simply make sure the float pontoons are centered.
DO NOT ADJUST BY BENDING THE PONTOON ITSELF. A leak might occur.
Level – With bowl cover assembly inverted, bowl cover gasket removed and lip of float resting on seated needle, measure from the bottom of the float to the bowl top. Use the measurement specification from your carburetor kit manual. When no measurement can be found, use 1/8″.
