Holley 4150 & 4160 Accelerator

Holley 4 Barrel Accelerator Circuit

Holley street carbs and OEM replacement units use piston- type or diaphragm- type accelerator pumps. Piston pumps don’t offer quite as positive a seal as diaphragm-type
pumps. And when they’re activated, some amount of fuel always leaks out of the chamber between the piston cup and the chamber cylinder wall. Eventually, the plunger (cup) material shrinks and hardens, and the pump leaks more fuel than it discharges at the nozzle. All Holley high performance carbs (in fact, all four-barrels
except the 4360) use diaphragm-type units
