Carburetor Identification – Where is the Carb Number

What Do Carburetor Numbers Look Like?

Carter – 7504S, 7504SA 927S – Carter always has a ‘S’ at the end.

Carter B&B Ball & Ball – D6H1

Ford – C034 AN – note: the 2nd digit is always a number.

Holley – R 1234 1A, or R 1234 1, or R 1234 – The R may not be included on the stamped carb number.

Zenith – 12345, 12345D

Older YF’s had the number stamped on he razorback.

1940 can have either a LIST 3450-1, or Ford number D2FG-AB.

Some older carburetors had 4 numbers stamped on the face of the mount. Add 700 in front of the 4 numbers. i.e. 7004965. Stamped numbers on the carburetor are casting numbers, not carb numbers.
