Carter W-1 Identification.
The Carter W-1 used a tag attached to the top of the carburetor. The carburetor number would be stamped on this tag and looks like xxxS. That is 3 numbers followed by a S. When the tag is missing watch the video below to identify the correct carburetor kit.
Here are some hints to what your carburetor may be:

It is an “anti-percolator valve” according to Carter nomenclature, or simply a bowl vent valve to the rest of us. It is triggered to close (pop up) when the accelerator pump is activated and to open (pushed down) when the throttle position returns to idle. Just be sure it moves up and down freely.
