Engine Surges (Aisan)

Note: We assume the engine and emission control system is operating properly before troubleshooting the carburetor.

These are things to check for:

  • carburetor to manifold nuts are loose
  • instake manifold to cylinder head mounting nuts are loose
  • air horn to main body mounting screws loose, permitting air leaks
  • fuel lines clogged, crimped, or fittings loose or damaged
  • fuel strainer clogged
  • carburetor float level improperly adjusted
  • idle speed and mixture not adjusted properly
