Note: We assume the engine and emission control system is operating properly before troubleshooting the carburetor.
These are things to check for:
- carburetor to manifold nuts are loose
- instake manifold to cylinder head mounting nuts are loose
- air horn to main body mounting screws loose, permitting air leaks
- fuel lines clogged, crimped, or fittings loose or damaged
- fuel strainer clogged
- carburetor float level improperly adjusted
- idle speed and mixture not adjusted properly
